Illustration Friday: Dance

Updated 7/17/06: The finished product:

You can see I changed the colors quite a bit and added a simple gradient background. Not exactly what I wanted, but I really don't have time or desire to keep working on it now, so that's it (as always, click for larger image):

This one isn't finished yet, still a lot of details to add, only her face is about finished. And I probably won't finish it in time to post for this week's topic. I do have a good excuse; I'm up to my eyeballs in salmon. Hubby and BIL went fishing (subsistence) the other day and Netted about 80 king and red salmon which they split. And I've been busy filleting and bagging and freezing.

This is a laboring position sometimes called "labor dance." Partner supports women, she is upright and able to fully utilize gravity to move baby down, even swaying hips or whatever is comfortable. In labor, get up, get out of bed, get moving... do the labor dance!

Some kid-friendly fare. I was just playing around doing vector objects without using any gradients or transparencies.

Illustration Friday - Imagine

Haven't done an IF illo in quite a while. We made a big move and things were very hectic. We now live in a "real" Alaskan town out in the bush where the only way in or out is by boat or plane.

Anyway, I'm glad to be able to have time to do something for IF again.

I had a strange attraction to eyballs when I was in high school. I don't know why, maybe it was that "window to your soul" thing, but I was always drawing them and painting them in art class. My mom recently called me up and mentioned she had found one of my eyeball paintings in stuff she was going through, so I guess this is kind of a reminiscing peice.

Illustration Friday - Fresh

Click for larger image. This guy is Supa Fresh straight from the Supa Market. I really enjoyed doing this guy, I think the egg timer bling was the perfect touch.
